The Coastal Wine Trail of Southeastern New England

ABOUT THE SOUTHEASTERN
NEW ENGLAND APPELLATION

Our viticultural appellation, called the Southeastern New England Wine Growing Appellation, stretches from the Cape and the Islands through South Coast Massachusetts, Coastal Rhode Island and Coastal Connecticut. The common thread through this region is our close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and our southeast facing coastline which captures the warm gulf stream waters in the summer and fall. We are a cool grape growing region featuring vinifera, hybrids and sparkling wines.

AMERICAN VITICULTURAL AREA (AVA) For Southeastern New England

An American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a designated wine grape growing region in the United States distinguishable by geographic features.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Coastal Wineries of Southeast New England, Inc. is to promote the Southeastern New England Viticultural Appellation and benefit vineyards and wineries within this region by increasing the awareness of tourists and wine drinkers of the value of the region’s vineyards and wineries.
